Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift 3x12
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This position emphasizes patient safety and employee safety while meeting the needs of patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to the patient's diagnosis.
- Provide accurate, timely documentation of all assessments and interventions.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure quality care through the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to maintain continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with established policies.
- Contribute to a positive unit environment by offering calm direction and support.
- Monitor clinical supplies and ensure cost-effective care delivery.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested.
- Engage in professional development and active pursuit of continuing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific facility only).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
Schedule
This position offers a day shift schedule of 3x12 hours.
