Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Long-Term Acute Care unit on night shift, requiring SC or compact RN license and cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• LTAC Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call required for holiday coverage
• Floating expected to a lower level of care within skillset based on critical staffing needs
• No block scheduling accommodations

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be obtained before starting)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred, 1 year considered case by case
• LTAC or short-term acute care experience preferred
• Recent Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response required
• Experience with mechanical ventilation modes (CV, CMV, A/C, SIMV, PS, PC, IRV +/- PEEP) and ventilator weaning
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Must select either 1 holiday with 2 on-call/additional shifts per 6 weeks, or 2 holidays with no on-call requirement
• Must pass an arrhythmia and medication test on the first day of orientation, with only one attempt allowed
• Shaving may be required to pass an onsite fit test
• Attendance policy in place; more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
• All RTO must be submitted with initial application, as requests made afterward will not be considered
• Previous permanent staff at this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
