Trusted Talent is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Care (LTC) Long Term Care for a travel nursing job in New Britain, Connecticut.
Unit Overview: - Work in Medically Complex Rehabilitation (MRU/CMU) with cardiac monitoring. - Primary patient population includes LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, and vent-dependent patients. - Medical environment distinct from traditional Med/Surg.
Shift Requirements: - May work either 3 x 12-hour shifts or 5 x 8-hour shifts. - Float to sister units (MRU and CMU) or additional units if working 12-hour shifts.
Experience & Certifications: - 1-2 years of relevant experience required; prior travel experience preferred. - Experience with respiratory/vented patients strongly preferred. - BLS required; ACLS preferred.
Responsibilities: - Perform IV starts, administer drips and blood transfusions. - Conduct EKGs, medication titrations, and glucose monitoring. - Change wound vacs and perform complex/simple wound dressings. - Conduct tracheostomy care, suctioning, straight catheterization, and Foley care. - Access ports, manage central line dressing, and measure wounds. - Respiratory Therapists manage ventilators.
Miscellaneous: - Flu vaccinations are required unless a valid medical declination is provided. Personal or religious declinations are not accepted. - Orientation takes place every Monday. - Profiles should highlight respiratory/vented patient experience where applicable.
