Trusted Talent is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Care (LTC) Long Term Care for a travel nursing job in New Britain, Connecticut.
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced nurse for a Respiratory Step Down Unit. Candidates should have 1-2 years of relevant experience, with prior travel experience preferred. Certification in BLS is required, and ACLS is preferred.
Patient Population:
- Respiratory-focused and vent-dependent patients
- Non-traditional medical environment
Floating Details:
- Nurses may be required to float to units like RCU, RCU2, SDU, and TRU.
- During a 12-hour shift, assignments may include multiple units.
Experience Requirements:
- Significant experience with respiratory or vented patients is strongly preferred.
- Nurses do not manage ventilators directly.
Unit Specifications:
- Respiratory Care Unit: 36 beds
- Respiratory Step-Down Unit: 38 beds
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform IV starts, drip management, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, and both complex and simple wound dressings.
- Conduct tracheostomy care, suctioning, catheter care, and port access.
- Manage central line dressings and wound measurements.
Certifications:
- BLS certification is required.
