Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active NY RN license and at least 1 year of LTC/skilled nursing experience.

Details

• Long-term care/skilled nursing facility with 300 beds, including rehabilitation, memory care, and wound care services
• Alzheimer's and dementia patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:18-20
• Evening shift, 8 hours, 5 days per week (2:45 PM - 11:15 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No float requirements between units
• Uses PointClickCare (PCC) charting system, not required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license required with no license history issues
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing experience required
• Must pass a medication administration (med pass) test and clinical observation
• Strong attendance and punctuality record required
• Must be an American citizen; Canadian citizens cannot be considered
• Proof of license required at time of consideration
• One verified professional reference required for consideration, with a second required prior to contract start

Additional Information

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including accurate medication passes
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition
• Complete timely and accurate documentation
• Supervise CNAs on assigned units
• Provide nursing care in accordance with facility policies
• Any solid color scrubs and closed-toe shoes required
• Free parking available on-site
• Orientation occurs every 2 weeks and cannot be missed
• Shift begins 15 minutes early and ends 15 minutes after scheduled time
• Call-outs must be reported with more than 24 hours notice
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and will not be approved after offer; holiday RTO not approved
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates are accepted
• Compliance process takes approximately 1.5-2 weeks
• Overtime is not available at this facility
