Job Summary:
Long Term Care registered nurse (RN) position in a skilled nursing facility located in a post-acute care setting. This role involves providing direct patient care, assessments, medication administration, dressings, wound management, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team during night shifts. The candidate must hold valid licensing for the state and have at least one year of experience, preferably with geriatric patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Active license to submit, BLS certification, one year of experience, and valid drivers license in the state.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with geriatrics preferred.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required between units, with an effort to keep staff on the same unit during a stretch.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:25 for RNs in long-term care and 1:13 in skilled nursing.
    • On-site RT (Respiratory Therapist) during weekdays, with nurses handling treatments during weekends and after hours.
    • Physician coverage includes hospitalist after hours, with a 24/7 on-call provider.
    • Interdisciplinary team includes PT, OT, SLP, case managers, social workers, dieticians, and wound care nurses.
    • On-site pharmacy available 24/7, with point-of-care medication dispensing systems.
    • Orientation involves a 12-hour shift on the floor; candidates should communicate concerns after the initial shift.
    • Uniform flexibility with any color of professional scrubs.
    • COVID-19 care unit is intermixed; both PAPR and N95 masks are used as needed.
    • Shift hours are from 5 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
    • No call or standby requirements.
    • Holidays and weekends are every other.
    • No minimum mileage restrictions; clinicians within 50 miles are eligible for specific rate adjustments.
