Maine is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a 13-week contract assignment in the Medical Surgical Care Department. This is a 36-hour-per-week night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week.
The CNA will provide direct patient care while supporting the nursing team in delivering safe, compassionate, and efficient care to Medical/Surgical patients.
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts/week
Shift: 6:00 PM–6:30 AM
Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Weekend: Rotating weekends required
Shift Flexibility: May be required to work variable shifts based on facility needs
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
Obtain and document accurate vital signs.
Perform EKGs and blood glucose testing using a glucometer.
Assist with patient mobility, positioning, transfers, and activities of daily living.
Provide basic patient care while maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and safety.
Assist with splinting and other patient-care procedures within CNA scope.
Perform phlebotomy and other assigned clinical tasks.
Report changes in patient condition promptly to the nursing team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to hospital policies.
Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Follow infection control, safety, and hospital procedures at all times.
Be willing to work variable shifts and participate in weekend rotations as required.
Active Maine CNA license/certification required.
Current BLS certification required.
Phlebotomy skills required.
Proficiency in:EKG
Vital signs
Splinting
Glucometer / blood glucose testing
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively in a Medical Surgical hospital environment.
Must be available to work 3 × 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM–6:30 AM).
Must be willing to work rotating weekends and variable shifts as needed.
