Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Licensed Mental Health Practitioners (LMHPs) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) to provide behavioral health services within a state prison setting. The ideal candidate will deliver individual and group counseling, complete assessments, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support an incarcerated population with behavioral health needs.
Please note: Candidates must be able to successfully pass a rigorous background investigation and drug screening prior to employment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct mental health assessments and evaluations.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions.
- Develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare and interdisciplinary team members.
- Assist in the treatment of behavioral health disorders and related conditions.
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Active LMHP or LPC license in the state of practice.
- Minimum 1 year of corrections and/or mental health experience required.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain before start date).
- Current TB screening, PPD, or chest X-ray if applicable.
- Current health certificate if required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Orientation
- One-week classroom-based orientation and training program.
Compensation
Local Candidates
- Hourly Rate: $40/hr.
- Estimated Weekly Gross: $1,600
Travel Candidates
- Hourly Rate: $22/hr.
- Weekly Meals Stipend: $385
- Weekly Housing Stipend: $672
- Estimated Weekly Pay Package: $1,937
