Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. The Registered Nurse will adhere to established protocols and standards to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients experiencing intrauterine pregnancy complications, including pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes.
- Monitor and manage patient condition in accordance with AWHONN guidelines.
- Titrate and administer medication drips, including Pitocin, magnesium, insulin, antihypertensives, and hemorrhage medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in department-specific orientation and training sessions.
- Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations.
Unit Information
- Number of L&D Beds: 14
- Staffing Ratios: Ratios fluctuate but comply with AWHONN standards.
- Support Staff: One OB tech per shift to assist with patient care.
Shifts & Scheduling
- Shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700.
- Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend.
- Holiday Requirements: Holidays rotate every three years.
Qualifications
- Active RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- Proficiency in using medical software and technologies.
Additional Information
- Orientation: Two shifts of unit-specific orientation will be provided.
- Floating: May voluntarily float to other departments or locations as needed.
- Compliance: Adhere to organizational policies, including the fingernail policy where artificial nails are prohibited for patient care providers.
