Responsibilities

• Utilize strong critical-thinking skills to adapt to available resources and apply a well-rounded clinical approach.
• Perform telemetry tests and interpret results independently, ensuring proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation.
• Maintain and monitor central lines, insulin drips, and administer blood products.
• Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, including preparation and recovery.
• Provide comprehensive care for newborns, including assessment, hypoglycemia management, and phototherapy.
• Offer breastfeeding support and education to new parents, including circumcision care and car seat education.
• Manage pain assessment and administration of epidural anesthesia and opioids.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Experience with community-level births and low-risk obstetrical triage.
• Proficiency in the use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Experience in administering Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin).
• Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams and manage postpartum hemorrhage.
• New York State RN License required.
