Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position in a busy Birthing Pavilion, requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 trauma experience.

Details

  • Work in the Birthing Pavilion of a hospital setting
  • Unit performs about 1,300 deliveries annually
  • 21 patient rooms, a 2-bed triage room, and 2 operating rooms
  • Experience in either Postpartum or Labor accepted, both not required
  • Nurse:patient ratios generally follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for Pitocin/active labor with intermittent monitoring, 1:2 for cervical ripening (1:1 with Pitocin), 1:2 for high-risk medications like Magnesium Sulfate and Insulin drips, and 1:3 for Antepartum/Postpartum couplets
  • 12-hour PM-AM shifts (19:00-07:00)
  • Day/Night rotation preferred, night shifts also available
  • 48 scheduled hours per week

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
  • BLS certification mandatory
  • Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care across Labor, Postpartum, and high-risk obstetric cases
  • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered
  • ASAP starts only
