L&D Registered Nurse – Travel Contract
Setting: Acute Care
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour nights
Weekend: Every other weekend
BSN: Not required
License to Submit: Required
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: Labor & Delivery
- Beds: 8 rooms, expandable to 10
- Deliveries: Approximately 65–75 per month
- Patient ratios: 1:1 to 1:3
- Patient population: High-risk obstetrics
- Common cases include:
- Pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH)
- Preeclampsia
- Preterm labor
- Magnesium sulfate patients
- Substance/addiction-related pregnancies
- Level III NICU: In-house
- OB/GYN: In-house
- RT: Available 24/7
- Pharmacy: Available 24/7
- IV Team: Available during daytime
Required Certifications
- BLS
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- COVID vaccination certification required
Clinical/Technical Requirements
- Experience with high-risk L&D
- Fetal monitoring experience
- Experience managing preeclampsia/PIH
- Magnesium sulfate administration/monitoring
- Cerner EMR experience
- Fetal Link experience
- Ability to float to Mother Baby
- Ability to scrub for C-sections is a plus
