Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night-shift Maternity Unit role requiring 24 months of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Maternity Unit at a Level 2 maternal/neonatal center with 16 maternity beds, 12 nursery beds, 4 NICU beds, and 1 C-section suite
  • Night shift, 3x12s, 36 hrs/week schedule
  • Every 3rd weekend required with no on-call obligations
  • Floating required to care for various patient types within the unit
  • Patient population includes antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU cases
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: Labor 1:1, Postpartum 1:2, NICU 2:1
  • Unit delivers approximately 50-60 births per month
  • Administers medications and manages drips/titrations including glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IA or Compact) required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
  • NRP certification required
  • Intermediate or Advanced EFM (electronic fetal monitoring) certification required
  • STABLE certification required
  • Minimum 24 months of Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Medication administration experience with glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin required
  • Nursery/Mother-Baby experience preferred
  • NICU experience preferred
  • Post Partum experience is a plus
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care across antepartum, labor, postpartum, newborn, and NICU populations as needed
  • Support high-volume delivery unit averaging 50-60 births monthly
  • Required to work 1-2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless the unit is closed
  • Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods in late November and late December
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Former UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work this travel assignment in any market
