Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring high-risk OB experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 45 beds and 2 ORs
• Handles high-risk OB, antepartum, C-section, and vaginal delivery patients with 1:1-2 patient ratios
• Manages magnesium, insulin, and pitocin drips
• Unit averages 150-350 deliveries per month across campuses
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift, 7p-7a, 36 hrs/week
• Weekend requirement every 3rd weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran, and Methodist West campuses to PP, MB, and L&D units
• Hospital-provided scrubs

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted)
• AWHONN or Intermediate/Advanced EFM certification required
• Minimum of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current or recent high-risk OB experience in a Level II trauma facility required
• Antepartum and C-section/vaginal delivery experience required
• Post-Partum/mother-baby experience preferred
• Current or recent high-risk OB experience in a Level I trauma facility highly preferred
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the last 12 months
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor & Delivery setting
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the assignment
• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of 3 designated holidays per season unless the unit is closed
• Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods
• Past UnityPoint Health FTE or PRN float pool employees are not eligible for travel assignments in other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
