Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring NM or compact licensure and specialized fetal monitoring and obstetric certifications.

Details

  • Work in the Family Birth Center of a hospital setting
  • Covers antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum/newborn patient populations
  • 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
  • Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (State of New Mexico or Compact)
  • Current certifications: BLS (AHA, ARC, or American Health and Safety), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and S.T.A.B.L.E.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Minimum two years of current L&D experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred; on-site training available
  • Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during first week of assignment

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include triage, labor assessment, fetal monitoring, and stabilization of high-risk obstetric patients
  • Administer medications such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, and antihypertensives
  • Provide newborn care including hearing screens, IV starts, medication administration, and phototherapy
  • Assist with cesarean delivery preparation and newborn stabilization for transport when needed
  • Candidates must retake BCA testing once if failed; failure on second attempt results in termination
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
  • Former Presbyterian Health Services employees must wait one year before being eligible to return as travelers
