Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2 years of recent L&D and high-risk experience for a night shift travel assignment in Asheville, NC.

Details

• Work in a 16-bed Labor & Delivery unit within a Level II trauma, comprehensive stroke, and Level III NICU referral hospital
• Care for high-risk obstetric patients including immediate newborn care needs
• Patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Uses Baxter infusion pumps and Phillips electronic fetal monitoring equipment
• Charts in Cerner and Fetal Ink EMR systems
• Floating required to MFMU, MOMB, and NICU as needed
• No weekend or on-call requirements, available only upon approval

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk obstetric experience required
• Immediate newborn care experience required
• Circulating experience preferred
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS/ACLS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN intermediate or advanced, or NCCEFM)
• Experience with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy procedures preferred
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care for laboring and high-risk obstetric patients, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and related procedures
• Scrubs provided according to unit dress code
• Work alongside a team including charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and RNs on both day and night shifts
• Outgoing, friendly, and adaptable personality types succeed well on this unit
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the experience requirements
