Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Bellefontaine, OH. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team, ensuring the highest standards of care for patients during labor and delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on patients and conducting reassessments as per policy.
• Assessing and managing pain using appropriate evaluation methods and educating patients and families on pain management techniques.
• Developing and revising care plans based on patient responses to treatment and evaluating their effectiveness daily.
• Providing patient care that meets the specific needs of patients of all ages, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.
• Administering medications correctly based on age and clinical condition while adhering to the five medication rights to minimize errors.
• Formulating and implementing teaching plans based on identified learning needs, including family involvement in the education process.
• Performing technical and manual skills within the scope of licensure and seeking guidance when necessary.
• Treating patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
• Acting as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
• Maintaining a safe environment for patients and families to reduce the likelihood of medical errors.
• Consulting with other departments to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Communicating effectively with unit directors, co-workers, and physicians.
• Documenting care in accordance with current standards and policies.
• Managing and operating equipment safely and correctly.
• Coordinating and supervising patient care as necessary.
• Demonstrating flexibility, organization, and the ability to function in stressful situations.
• Maintaining annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose waived testing.
