Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a compact or AL RN license and 2+ years of L&D experience.

Details

  • Work in the Labor and Delivery (LDRPN) unit of a hospital environment
  • Provide care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth
  • 13-week assignment with night shift hours from 18:30 to 07:00
  • Up to 6 weekend shifts required as needed per department needs
  • Holiday coverage required as needed per department needs

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • NRP certification (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics) required
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
  • Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
  • Carry out physician and nursing orders and assess discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
  • Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, manage pain including epidurals, and assist with vaginal or surgical deliveries
  • Educate families on postpartum recovery
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a stressful, fast-paced environment
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Local candidates accepted, subject to a radius rule that may affect pay rate depending on facility location
