Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse working at a healthcare facility location in Plano, Texas. This position involves providing high-risk obstetric patient care on a busy maternity unit, including labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality maternal and neonatal care in a Level IV obstetric setting.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Preferred Qualifications: Stable, Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) Scrub training
- Experience: 3 years of experience in high-risk obstetric nursing preferred, minimum of 0 years required
- Unit Information:
- Location: 3901 W 15th Street, Plano, TX 75075
- Floor: 2nd, Building B
- Bed Capacity: 21 beds, 4 recovery rooms, 3 operating room suites, 4-bed obstetric triage unit
- Staffing: Approximately 80 staff members including charge nurses, RNs, OB technicians, and unit secretaries
- Equipment: GE fetal monitors, Acumen, JADA, EMR Meditec and CPN systems
- Policies & Guidelines: Level IV maternity center caring for routine and high-risk obstetric patients, requiring availability for two weekends per schedule, with preference-based scheduling.
- Responsibilities: Labor, delivery, and recovery care, circulating in the operating room, managing high-risk antepartum patients, triage assessment at all pregnancy stages, and assisting with procedures as needed.
- Skill Set: Candidates with travel RN experience, local certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and sitters are preferred.
- Additional Information: Focus on team collaboration, adaptability, and positive attitude. The unit features new equipment and technology, with an experienced staff offering a dynamic work environment.
