Job Details
- Position Description: Under the supervision of a nurse leader, independently prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients in a labor and delivery setting. Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver safe and therapeutic care. Builds trusting relationships with patients and their families, incorporating mind, body, and spirit modalities to facilitate healing. Collects and documents data, interprets assessment findings, and develops individualized care plans. Implements nursing and physician orders, prioritizes actions, and manages rapidly changing situations effectively. Coordinates care activities with the healthcare team, adheres to therapeutic standards and regulatory compliance, and participates in professional governance activities. Completes mandatory education, maintains licensure, and adheres to ANA standards of nursing practice and hospital policies.
- Required Qualifications: Valid, unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse License (RN License); minimum of 3 years' experience; knowledge and experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR); Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); Advanced Fetal Heart Monitor (FHM) from the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN); Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI) from AWHONN; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) cards from the American Heart Association.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Depending on assignment, incumbents may need to maintain specific certificates of competency as a condition of employment. Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, medical terminology, medication management, infection control, and clinical instruments is required.
