Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) is needed for a night shift position at a healthcare facility. The role involves providing comprehensive care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, with exposure to obstetric procedures, fetal monitoring, and neonatal care. The RN will work within a 20-bed unit, including a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), ensuring optimal patient outcomes from admission through discharge.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification; strong experience with labor and delivery procedures including cervical exams, antepartum and labor management, amnio infusions, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IV placement, Pitocin administration, and circulating C-section procedures; experience with postpartum care from transition to discharge; comfort with baby catching and receiving (APGAR assessments); breastfeeding knowledge; proficiency in Epic electronic medical records (EMR).
- Preferred Qualifications: Multilingual skills, especially Russian or Spanish; scrub training or scrub tech experience; familiarity with postpartum care across different stages; experience with electronic fetal monitoring.
- Additional Information: The unit includes 3 OB/ED rooms, 2 operating rooms, and a 6-bed Level II NICU. Scrubs are provided in teal. An NP is on call. This position is suitable for first-time travelers seeking clinical experience in a diverse patient population.
