Job Summary:
This Labor and Delivery (L&D) specialty position is based in a healthcare facility. The role involves providing expert obstetric and postpartum care, supporting both routine and complex deliveries. The staff will be responsible for a range of clinical duties including cervical exams, antepartum and labor support, fetal monitoring, epidurals, IV management, and circulating C-sections. The position also involves postpartum transitional care from delivery to discharge for mothers and babies, with a focus on clinical excellence and patient safety.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), fetal monitoring. Education: minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with exposure to postpartum care; BLS, NRP certifications required. Location Requirements: work in a facility with 20 total beds (12 Labor and Delivery, 8 Post-Partum/Antepartum), including a 6-bed Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Skills required: strong labor and delivery experience; ability to perform cervical exams, antepartum and labor support, amnio infusions, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IV management, Pitocin administration, circulating C-sections, baby catching/receiving, APGAR assessments, breastfeeding knowledge.
- Preferred Qualifications: Comfort with all aspects of postpartum care from transition to discharge; scrub experience is a bonus. Fluency in Russian or Spanish is preferred due to the multilingual patient population.
- Additional Information: The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including a nurse practitioner on call. EMR system preference is Epic. Scrubs are provided in teal.
