Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit nurse position is located in Meridian, Idaho. This role involves providing care for laboring patients, postpartum patients, and well newborns according to established guidelines. The position offers 12-hour night shifts with a focus on patient safety, clinical excellence, and collaboration within a busy obstetrics unit.

Job Details:

  • Location: Meridian, ID
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM; weekends as needed; first to float to like units within valley (Nampa L&D and Boise L&D). All sites are within approximately 20 minutes.
  • Required Qualifications: Idaho nurse licensure, BLS, ACLS, NRP, Stable (taken at least once), AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Triage experience, experience with titrating drips such as Pitocin, mag, and insulin, and familiarity with GE Connect electronic fetal monitoring system.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit details include 10 beds in the Womens Services department, with 2 operating rooms for cesarean sections.
    • Staff includes charge RNs, resource RNs, CNAs, and a unit clerk available 24/7.
    • In-house OB/Neonatologists, neonatology nurse practitioners, anesthesiologists, and nurses are on call 24/7.
    • Staff cannot work more than five shifts in a row per hospital policy.
    • Customized orientation typically includes 4-6 shifts.
