Job Summary:
Registered Nurse specializing in Maternal Child Health is needed in Ithaca, New York. This position involves providing direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department, working collaboratively with unit leadership to ensure patient needs are met according to established nursing standards. The role requires a person-centered approach to care, with responsibilities including data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs, including physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual aspects. Experience in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is required.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, CPR certified, at least 1 year of clinical experience, prior Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience, completed Nursing degree program, willingness to float outside Maternal Child Health as needed, ability to work nights.
• Preferred Qualifications: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, postpartum care experience.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The role involves floating outside Maternal Child Health to departments such as Labor and Delivery, NICU, or Postpartum. Candidates will be expected to follow established policies, procedures, and standards, demonstrating critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Cross-training to labor, postpartum, and NICU care is part of staff development.
