Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Department. The position provides independent nursing care for patients and families with routine and complex needs in a perinatal setting. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, medication and treatment administration, patient education, documentation, and coordination of care.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or a compact state; current certification in one of the following: Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or National Certification Corporation (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM); current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a perinatal setting, perinatal registered nurse residency completion, or recent practice in a perinatal setting.
- Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, full-time, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Provides nursing care in accordance with the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Administers medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols, monitors treatment effectiveness and side effects, documents patient information and care provided, assesses learning needs, and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Newly hired experienced registered nurses attend new nurse orientation within the first 30 days and complete organizational and perinatal services competency validations, along with annual competency verification requirements.
