Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit. The position requires assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards of practice, ensuring quality patient outcomes throughout the perinatal and postpartum periods.

  • Shift: Days, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or a valid compact RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of recent experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months in the specialty area of labor and delivery.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification related to labor and delivery nursing is preferred.
  • Responsibilities include assessment of patient needs, formulation and implementation of individualized care plans, coordination with the multidisciplinary team, and documentation of care provided. The role also involves patient education, supervision of licensed and non-licensed personnel, and participation in continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Additional Information: The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 75 pounds. Use of proper body mechanics and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with patients, families, and health care team members.
