Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) based in Alaska. This position involves providing specialized care in a high-volume, high-risk obstetric unit at a Magnet Level II Trauma facility. The role is focused on delivering safe, compassionate, and effective maternity care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Location: Alaska
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Education Requirements: Valid Alaska RN license, required upon auto-offer, with pending licenses accepted, but must be in hand for confirmation.
- Years of Experience: 1 year of relevant obstetric nursing experience; 0 years minimum required.
- Schedule: Nights, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Provide care for high-risk antepartum and obstetrical patients, assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care. Support triage and testing activities, including third-trimester testing and triage patient influx. Maintain proficiency in obstetric procedures, fetal monitoring, and use of electronic charting systems (Epic).
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience or willingness to train as charge, experience with high volume deliveries, and familiarity with obstetric procedures.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within scope to meet facility needs.
- Submission Requirements: Current Alaska RN license in hand, 2 recent references covering 1 year during the last 3 years, and copies of certifications including charting proficiency in Epic.
- Additional Details: Participant must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). No local candidates accepted; candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility. Travelers can only work at this location for a maximum of 1 year with at least a 6-month break before returning for another assignment.
