Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a busy Level 1 Trauma Designation hospital. The role involves providing compassionate and comprehensive Mother Baby care for patients undergoing vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including postpartum and occasional overflow hysterectomies. The RN will work in a unit with a team-focused environment, supporting patient care, patient education, and clinical assessments.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting 10/05/2026 and ending 01/01/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) certification with the ability to pass an EKG competency exam; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); two years of postpartum RN experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Fetal Monitoring skills; strong clinical mother-baby skills suitable for a Level 1 Trauma hospital; experience with IV insertion, care, and central line management; ability to coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams; competency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, specifically EPIC.
- Support within the Department: Assistance with patient vital signs, glucose checks, baths, feeding, ambulating and turning patients, hourly rounding, transporting patients, and blood sample collection.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes one day of facility and unit education and two days of departmental training. Scrub color is L&D surgical green with a scrub exchange system. Parking is free, with options around the campus or in a parking deck. The unit maintains a busy but team-oriented culture.
