Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in a healthcare facility setting. This role involves providing specialized maternity and obstetric care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients. The position requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP. Education requirement: 1 year of experience as an L&D nurse.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN, certification in BLS, FHM, and NRP, knowledge of antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal resuscitation.
- Additional responsibilities include assisting with sterile speculum exams, fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery support, administration of blood and blood products, and postpartum care.
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring, obstetrical assessments, and high-risk obstetric procedures is essential.
- The unit includes L&D and postpartum within the same space, with staffing standards based on acuity, typically maintaining a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Willingness to float to postpartum units or provide couplet care as needed.
- Pending license acceptance is required.
- On-call shifts: 2 per 6-week schedule period.
- RTO restrictions: Max of 7 days, with final approval required at time of submission.
- Compliance and orientation modules complete prior to start date.
- No local candidates within 75 miles accepted.
