Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) in Dickson, Tennessee. This position involves providing specialized care in a Level II Labor, Delivery, Post-Partum, and Neonate care unit. The role demands experienced registered nurses skilled in labor management, obstetric emergencies, and neonatal assessment within a busy tertiary care environment. The successful candidate will join a team of seasoned professionals committed to delivering high-quality maternal and neonatal care.
Job Details:

- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week

- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), Fetal Monitoring training, 3 years of relevant labor and delivery experience, ability to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn, experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and OB emergencies
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with inductions (Pitocin, cervidil), advanced fetal monitoring skills, proficiency in C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries, and familiarity with current obstetric protocols
- Unit-Specific Policies: Policies and procedures are available in Policy Stat; unit-specific guidelines and policies will be provided upon onboarding.
- Additional Information: The unit has 6 seasoned registered nurses, each with approximately 30 years of experience, along with other highly experienced team members with 7-10 years of service. The team maintains a collaborative environment, driven by a shared commitment to exemplary patient care. The unit utilizes updated equipment including fetal monitors, IV pumps, infant warmers, bili-blankets, PCA pumps, and a tele-med robot for neonatologist consultations. The department functions efficiently with daily patient rounding and safety checks, providing a comprehensive learning environment for gaining valuable obstetric and neonatal skills.
