Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery registered nurse based in the department specializing in obstetric care. This role involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. The position requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, as well as providing health education and counseling to support maternal and fetal well-being throughout the childbirth process.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) degree from an accredited school of nursing, current registered nurse license in the practice state, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, and a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree of Nursing and certifications relevant to the obstetric unit are preferred.
  • Additional Information: The role may require floating to other departments within the scope of competency and qualifications based on operational needs. Some on-call duty during scheduled shifts may be required. The RN will provide support in evaluating health status, executing medical functions, referrals, documentation, and resource utilization to promote optimal patient outcomes.
