Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position in a hospital setting. This role involves caring for obstetric patients, including laboring women and newborns, with responsibilities encompassing support for vaginal deliveries, C-section recoveries, and postpartum care. The position offers the opportunity to work in a unit providing couplet care, with a focus on labor support, triage, and neonatal assessments.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), current license (pending verification or acceptance of license prior to start), at least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience, community hospital or obstetrics unit experience, and familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems such as Epic.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within scope of practice, with brief unit orientation provided.
- Additional Information: Candidates must be able to assist with obstetric procedures, conduct newborn assessments, and support postpartum and neonatal care activities including breastfeeding and thermoregulation. The unit primarily manages neonates with most rooming in with parents, and cares for laboring patients, triage, and newborns.
