Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in obstetric care, located in a facility focusing on maternal health services. The position involves independent clinical assessment and intervention during labor, delivery, and postpartum, supporting patient transitions from prenatal to postpartum phases, while maintaining adherence to safety and caregiving standards.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Current licensure and previous experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, including cervical checks, operating room circulator duties, IV starts, and medication administration such as oxytocin and magnesium.
- Preferred Qualifications: Skills in device placement, including intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) and Fetal Scalp Electrode (FSE), and experience with newborn transition procedures.
- Additional Information: The unit consists of 11 beds and a team of 34 staff members, including charge nurses, surgical technicians, and registered nurses. Equipment includes standard GE fetal monitoring systems, wireless monitoring devices (NOVII), and Baxter intravenous pumps. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech Expanse and GE CPN Connect. Policies concerning clinical practice and unit guidelines are in place, with rotating weekends and no on-call requirement. Candidates should demonstrate an open and friendly personality, capable of managing independently while fostering team collaboration.
