Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery Recovery Postpartum position requiring C-section circulation skills and OB triage experience.

Details

  • Work in a 6-bed Labor & Delivery unit with one C-section OR in a hospital setting
  • Unit averages 100 deliveries monthly, working alongside OBGYNs and midwives
  • Manage laboring patients, circulate and assist in C-sections, and recover both labor and surgical patients
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours weekly
  • Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 36-hour contracts and block schedule requests will be considered

Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
  • 5 years of L&D experience highly preferred
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
  • Must be able to circulate for C-sections
  • Must be able to triage OB patients
  • Experience with point of care testing required

Additional Information

  • Provide competent clinical nursing care using the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
  • Coordinate and deliver patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity and quality of care
  • Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning needs and attend relevant education programs
  • Support a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
  • Assess patient and family education needs and readiness to learn
  • Contribute to unit goals and performance improvement activities
