LDRP Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated LDRP Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic labor and delivery team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period while ensuring compliance with established best practice guidelines.

Shift Details

  • Shift Type: Days
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: As needed based on availability

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Labor & Delivery
  • Number of L&D Beds: 4 L&D beds, 7 postpartum beds
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Labor: 1:1-2
    • Postpartum: 1:2-3
  • Common Diagnoses: Patients greater than 35 weeks in labor; Mother/Baby couplets

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
  • Perform assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage medications and infusions as required.
  • Titrate drips, including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and other medications as necessary.
  • Utilize the EFM System: OB Trace Vue for fetal monitoring.
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Assist with troubleshooting of neonatal respiratory equipment such as CPAP, BiPap, and high flow.
  • Participate in orientation and continuous education, including 3 sessions of department-specific orientation.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.

Additional Notes

This role requires flexibility and the ability to float to other departments such as Mother/Baby or Emergency Department for patient support. Scrubs will be provided for the duration of the contract.
