Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (4x12, 1845-0715)
• No block scheduling; flexibility required
• Floating to the Post-Partum unit required based on patient care needs
• Uses Epic charting system
• Manages Magnesium Sulfate drips and circulates/scrubs for C-Sections

Requirements

• Active Washington (WA) or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in a unit of comparable volume and acuity
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with Magnesium Sulfate therapy, C-Section circulating, and high-risk delivery assistance required
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring (EFM) and IUPC placement
• Proficiency in Pitocin administration and management of OB emergencies such as hemorrhage and uterine rupture
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal births, and C-Sections including recovery care
• Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching
• Manage patients with complex conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa
• Required orientation modules are completed and signed off by facility managers
• Maximum RTO of 5 days permitted per assignment, with all requests disclosed prior to starting
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as non-local travelers
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
