Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a maternity float pool position requiring intermediate AWHONN certification and Epic experience.

  • ;Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
  • Assigned to a maternity float pool covering both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (3x12 schedules also considered)
  • 36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday required
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations, must be able to work all 7 days
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license (permanent or conditional/temp) required, pending applicants may be submitted
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • AWHONN Intermediate certification or higher required
  • 3 years of experience strongly preferred; 1-2+ years considered with travel experience
  • First-time travelers considered if coming from a teaching hospital with required teaching hospital experience
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
  • Experience with labor and delivery management including high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock response
  • Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
  • Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, and insulin drips
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum units
  • Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries, neonatal care in the delivery room, and postpartum care
  • Must complete pass/fail medication exam and telemetry exam during orientation, each with one attempt; failure results in contract cancellation
  • Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review; no RTO allowed during the first week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates must reside within a 200-mile radius of the facility
