Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
  • Facility performs 200-300 births per month at a teaching hospital
  • Care for patients with labor, preterm labor, high risk antepartum, and low risk antepartum/LD
  • Circulate and scrub for OB-GYN and C-section surgeries, provide pre-op and post-op care
  • Perform special procedures including blood/blood product administration, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, wound vac, and magnesium sulfate therapy
  • Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
  • Float to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a sister facility required
  • Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Certifications required: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (ACLS preferred)
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line maintenance, and medication administration for anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
  • Experience with labor and delivery management, high risk delivery assistance, C-section circulating and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
  • Experience with fetal monitoring, IUPC placement/calibration, and antepartum/postpartum care required
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Radius rule of 50 miles applies
  • Former Providence permanent staff must be separated at least 3 months and reside outside 50 miles of the facility to be eligible to return as a traveler
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem), including location and dates
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-submission requests may not be granted
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the system
