Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring at least 3 years of high acuity L&D experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with 31 rooms and beds
  • Unit averages 15 patients daily with 500-600 deliveries per month
  • Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
  • Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring equipment
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:2
  • Float required to Post Partum/Antepartum units and sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
  • Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
  • Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
  • 4 operating rooms available for deliveries

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in high acuity, high paced L&D environment required
  • High-risk delivery experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skilled in labor and delivery management, circulating for C-sections, and assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries
  • Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, insulin drips, and anticoagulation therapy
  • Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, newborn resuscitation, and baby nurse duties
  • Postpartum care skills including fundus/lochia/perineum care and hemorrhage management
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Functions as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum
  • Circulates for deliveries and provides newborn care including eye care and Vitamin K injections
  • Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they do not live within 50 miles of the facility
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the state
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
