We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join our team in Seattle, WA. This is a contract position with a focus on providing exceptional care in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery setting. Our facility is known for its commitment to excellence and adherence to AWHONN guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care during labor and delivery, functioning as the Baby Nurse until transfer to postpartum.
• Float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed, and may float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care.
• Administer medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate, and perform newborn assessments and procedures such as Vitamin K injections.
• Maintain a high level of patient care in a fast-paced, high acuity environment.
• Collaborate with midwifery clients and private OBs, and support adult recovery services for substance recovery.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, with high-risk experience preferred.
• Active compact license required.
• Certifications: BLS and NRP are required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate are preferred.
• Experience with EPIC HARDSTOP and electronic fetal monitoring is valued.

This position requires working every other weekend and holidays as needed. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The average daily census is 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month.
