Job Description & Requirements

Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Schedule & Contract
- Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend: Every other weekend
- On-Call: None
- Holiday: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Local Candidates: RNs within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted. Locals are accepted for LPN positions.
- RTO/Block/Special Scheduling Requests: Must be submitted at the time of submission
- Call-Off Policy: The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges for those canceled hours.
License & Certifications
- Active New York RN or LPN license required
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- New York is not a Compact state
- OB-ACLS or ACLS
- BLS
- EFM certification
- NRP
Required Clinical Skills
- Assist with vaginal deliveries
- Circulate for C-sections
- Recover C-section patients
- Magnesium Sulfate therapy
- Pitocin/Oxytocin and Terbutaline
- APGAR scoring
- Baby Nurse / Baby Catcher
- ID and security banding
- Radiant warmers and thermoregulation
- Foley catheter insertion and management
- Fundus, lochia, and perineal care
- Postpartum hemorrhage management
- Pregnancy-induced hypertension
- NST (Non-Stress Tests)
- EFM (External Fetal Monitoring)
- IUPC placement and calibration
Unit Details
- All pregnant patients at any gestational age accepted by the provider team
- Triage evaluates pregnant patients at any gestational age and postpartum patients up to 6 weeks after delivery
- GE fetal and telemetry monitors
- Monica wireless fetal monitoring
- Neopuff
- Draeger newborn warmers
- Floating: Required within the nurse's skill set
- Scrubs: Hospital provided
