Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of recent L&D experience and an active VA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Labor and Delivery unit in an acute care hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:00
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Floating may be requested based on facility needs

Requirements

  • Active VA RN license or compact license in hand required
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, must be most recent experience
  • Specialty experience within the last year required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • NIH Stroke Scale education required
  • Current certifications: BLS and NRP required; ACLS and AWHONN Intermediate preferred
  • Certifications must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care within the Labor and Delivery unit
  • Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
  • Prior permanent employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to travel
  • Requested time off should be minimal, with no more than 7 days total during the assignment and no full calendar weeks off
  • All time off requests must be submitted with the initial application and confirmed prior to the offer
  • No additional time off requests will be approved after an offer is extended
  • Candidates cannot work both travel and per diem contracts simultaneously at this health system
