Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week evening shift assignment requiring prior travel experience and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit, floating to Antepartum as needed
• Facility performs 200-300 births per month
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Evening shift, 3x12 hours (3:00 PM-3:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery management, including amnioinfusion, vaginal and C-section deliveries, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Experience caring for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, and multiple gestation
• Experience with postpartum care including couplet care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and breastfeeding support
• Knowledge of fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Serve as primary nurse managing overall patient care from admission to discharge
• Responsible for patient safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention measures
• Respond to medical and environmental emergencies as needed
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Returning staff or travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning
