Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CT or compact RN license and 2+ years of current L&D experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit in the Delivery Room department
  • Night shift from 19:00-07:30, including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Holiday coverage required
  • Performs intermittent Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and interpretation of fetal heart rate tracings (Category I-III)
  • Manages spontaneous vaginal deliveries and assisted births
  • Manages high-risk labor cases including IUGR, preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes
  • Performs induction and augmentation of labor, including Pitocin protocols and cervical ripening agents
  • Performs amnioinfusion and serves as C-section circulator
  • Manages surgical patients
  • May float to Maternity, Pediatrics, or NICU as needed

Requirements

  • Active CT or compact RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only)
  • NRP-Advanced certification
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification (Advanced EFM not accepted)
  • NCC C-EFM certification required within one year of first assignment
  • 2+ years of current Labor and Delivery experience
  • Two professional references from a manager or above within the prior year rating standard or above average

Additional Information

  • Works alongside a collaborative L&D care team managing high-risk and routine deliveries
  • Completes required Northwell iLearn modules prior to assignment start
  • Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a reduced rate
  • Returning travelers with prior Northwell/Nuvance Health experience will undergo an eligibility review process
  • Clinical evaluations are conducted during the assignment to monitor performance
  • Uses Kronos for timekeeping
