Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit with inpatient rooming, keeping infants with mothers
• Newborn nursery available for infants requiring specialized care
• Cares for neonate and adult patient populations
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Uses Omnicell medication system
• Follows SBAR communication protocol
• No charge nurse duties required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care
• Experience with vaginal delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and C-section recovery
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and use of infusion pumps
• Experience with pain management including epidural and IV pain medications
• Knowledge of newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing care
• Support antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients including couplet care and multiple births
• Perform fetal monitoring and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Assist with newborn care immediately following delivery including ID banding and metabolic screening
• Provide breastfeeding support and discharge education to new parents
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Returning staff must wait one year before becoming eligible to return as a traveler
