Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring MA RN licensure and Epic experience, with rotation between L&D and Postpartum units.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit, assigned to a maternity float pool covering both L&D and Postpartum
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• 36 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday required
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active MA RN license (permanent license in hand required for consideration)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or above, EFM
• 3 years of L&D experience strongly preferred; 1-2+ years considered with travel experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and use of infusion pumps
• Experience with labor and delivery management including high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation/recovery, and hemorrhage/shock response
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal EFM, IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement
• Experience with antepartum and postpartum care and procedures
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum settings
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Complete pass/fail medication and telemetry exams during orientation with only one attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
• Multiple study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews
• Exempt from RN telemetry testing if working in Mother Baby/Postpartum, Ambulatory, OR, SACU, or Psych units
• Various clinical modules required pre-start and during orientation, and annually thereafter
• First-time travelers from a teaching hospital background may be considered if they have required teaching hospital experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Radius requirement of 200 miles for RN positions
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
