Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide care for laboring patients, delivered mothers, and newborns. The candidate must be comfortable caring for both the mother and baby and should have strong experience with labor, delivery, C-sections, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care.
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License – REQUIRED
- BLS – REQUIRED
- ACLS – REQUIRED
- NRP Provider – REQUIRED
- AWHONN Advanced / Advanced Fetal Monitoring – REQUIRED
- Minimum 2 years of experience – REQUIRED
- Must be comfortable caring for both newborns and delivered mothers
Key Clinical Skills
- External fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Advanced fetal monitoring
- Triage of obstetrical patients
- Vaginal deliveries
- Assist with vaginal delivery
- Cesarean sections
- Circulate for C-section
- Recover C-section patients
- APGAR scoring
- Epidural anesthesia
- Magnesium sulfate therapy
- Pitocin/oxytocin
- Terbutaline
- Pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Antihypertensive and antiseizure medications
- Blood and blood product administration
- Sterile vaginal examinations
- IV insertion and maintenance
- Infusion pumps and IV monitoring
- Pain assessment and management
- Fundus, lochia, and perineal care
- Newborn and maternal ID/security banding
- Bladder distension assessment
- PCA/IV medication management
- Isolation precautions and PPE
Schedule
- 3×12-hour night shifts
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend coverage required
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract
- Only 1 holiday RTO may be requested per contract
