Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week assignment requiring a CA RN license and at least 3 years of L&D experience with Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit featuring 4 Triage bays, 11 LDR rooms, 2 ORs, NICU, and Post-Partum care
• Supports low and high risk deliveries with 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
• Cares for neonates, adolescents, and adult patients
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30)
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
• Mandatory on-call required twice monthly in addition to scheduled shifts
• May be placed on call in lieu of a scheduled shift if not needed
• Floating to Perinatal required as needed
• Utilizes SBAR communication, Omnicell, and eMD Allscripts systems

Requirements

• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Experience with external fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Ability to circulate for C-section procedures
• Allscripts charting experience preferred
• References required for consideration
• Advanced EKG exam required with a minimum 80% passing score (two attempts permitted)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care across triage, LDR, OR, and post-partum settings
• Must work most holidays with limited holiday RTO consideration (not guaranteed)
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 3 RTO days allowed for the full 13-week contract
• All RTO must be submitted with the initial application and cannot be modified except to cancel
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Returning staff evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• Facility maintains a smoke/nicotine-free environment; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
