Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Portland, Oregon.
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D RN):
Shift: Night Shift – 3 × 12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills and experience managing high-risk pregnancies, fetal monitoring, and emergency obstetric situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rates, and uterine contractions.
Perform fetal monitoring and interpret fetal heart rate patterns.
Assist physicians during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures.
Administer medications and manage IV therapy as ordered.
Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, including fetal distress and postpartum hemorrhage.
Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and families.
Maintain accurate patient documentation using the Epic charting system.
Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe patient outcomes.
Requirements:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Previous Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications, as required by the facility.
NRP
Strong knowledge of fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency management.
Epic charting experience
Med Ninjas Job ID #19857. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
