Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment at a Level 3 Perinatal center with a Level 4 NICU, requiring 3 years of L&D experience and 1:1 patient ratios.

Details

  • Level 3 Perinatal center at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with approximately 150 births per month
  • Care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, with 70% classified as complex high risk
  • Unit includes 2 ORs for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs
  • Second L&D RN role available as baby catcher for well, non-compromised newborns
  • 1:1 patient ratios
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Weekend rotation required
  • No call requirements
  • Floating required within the hospital, no floating to sister facilities
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • AWHONN Intermediate, EFM Certification, FHM, and NCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years of L&D nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with high-risk antepartum, labor and delivery management, and neonatal care in the delivery room
  • Skills in fetal monitoring, medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives), and postpartum care required
  • Experience assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections preferred
  • Level 3 Perinatal/Level IV NICU experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn populations
  • Support high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation, and postpartum recovery
  • Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
  • Any color scrubs permitted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
  • RTO must be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first two weeks of assignment
  • Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
